Ted Cruz: Behind the Headlines
You can catch Lt. Dan wherever you get your podcasts, at www.ltdan.com, or on my YouTube channel. If you enjoy it, please subscribe and share it with a friend.
This week on Lt. Dan, I sat down with my longtime friend, Senator Ted Cruz, for a candid conversation about politics, faith, friendship, and the moments that have shaped our careers so far. We swapped stories from the campaign trail, talked about the friendships that have lasted through the years, and discussed the fight over election integrity in Washington.

No More Dirty, Filthy, and Vulgar Books in Our Schools
Over 600,000 people viewed my podcast episode last week with Bonnie Wallace.
The astonishing response to this episode led me to hold a press conference Wednesday to send a message to school districts: They must follow SB 13, one of my top priorities last session by Senator Angela Paxton, R-McKinney. SB 13 is the law. It removes these dirty, filthy, and vulgar books from our schools. If schools do not follow the law, sadly, as many school districts are not, this will count against their A–F accountability rating.
For those few who say we are banning books, that is simply not true. No book in America is banned. Anyone can buy any book they want at a bookstore. But we are not spending taxpayer money to put these dirty, filthy, and vulgar books in our school libraries.

Texas Runs on Energy

On Tuesday, I joined independent oil and gas producers from around the state in San Antonio at the annual TIPRO conference.
I have always prioritized our oil and gas industry because it’s the economic engine of our state. Without them, Texas would not be where we are today.
Affordability, Insurance & Pecan Pie

On Tuesday, I also joined the Greater San Antonio Chamber. This group of business leaders is working hard to keep San Antonio on track to become an economic powerhouse.
We discussed important issues Texans are facing, including affordability, insurance, and tuition costs.

At the end of the meeting, they gifted me one of my favorite desserts, true Texas pecan pie.
Thank you for all your support over the years and for everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
