Fighting Back against the Dem’s Phony Mail-in Ballot Scam
I joined Ed Henry on America’s Newsroom Friday morning to talk about the Democrats’ push to expand voting by mail in Texas ― and how Texas is fighting back. In case you missed it, click here to watch.
The Facts about “Freezing” Property Taxes
This morning, I talked with WFAA’s Jason Whitely about property tax appraisals and the misinformation being put out by many of our cities and counties regarding your property taxes. We discussed several other issues too. WFAA is in Dallas, but the show is broadcasted throughout the state. If you missed it, you can click here to watch the interview.
It is a Big Deal to be Part of the Class of 2020!
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many high school seniors across Texas will not be having the graduation ceremony they envisioned. I know that must be a very difficult way to end senior year, so I wanted to take a moment to let the Class of 2020 know how proud I am of what they have accomplished ― and I called on a few friends (and friends of friends) to join me in congratulating our students. Click here to watch the video.
I sent this video to every high school superintendent in Texas to share with their seniors, and I hope you will share it with your friends and family who are celebrating 2020 graduations now.
When we were making the video, we had to trim the clip of legendary Dallas Cowboy and NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin because we could only use a few seconds. But I want to share his entire message with you — about a minute and a half — because it is so inspiring. I know you will enjoy it.
Honored to Speak to Cornerstone Christian School Graduation
On Friday night, I was honored to give the commencement address at the graduation ceremony for the 2020 graduates of Cornerstone Christian Schools in San Antonio. These impressive students demonstrated great accomplishments and great faith, and I know they have bright futures ahead of them. The outdoor graduation ceremony – complete with social distancing, of course, was beautiful. I feel so blessed to have been there to witness this very special moment in the lives of these students. As you can see, I started out speaking on the 50 yard line, but then moved down to the end zone, where the graduates were seated.
BTW, I dined at the Fish City Grill in San Antonio before the Cornerstone graduation. I am happy to report that they had a full, 50% crowd and the food was delicious. Support your local businesses when you can.
It was great to be on the Brian Kilmeade Show Monday morning to discuss re-opening Texas, getting fans back in the stands and other issues. I last saw Brian when he was in Texas promoting his book on the Alamo – if you haven’t read it, I recommend it. You can click here to listen to that interview.
A Birthday Party with Friends
Jan asked me to thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes this weekend. She celebrated her birthday with friends. Since the grandkids couldn’t come over, they insisted on sending their stuffed animal friends. I got a great shot of the party!
Honoring Our Fallen Heroes
As we celebrate Memorial Day tomorrow, may we never forget the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. To all who have served…thank you.
May God bless you and your family and may he continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
