The Highest Ground You Can Ever Stand on is the Rock of Your Faith

I am always inspired by the faith of the people of Texas, even in the worst of times. I traveled to Polk County yesterday along with Senator Robert Nichols, R-Jacksonville, and met with the great people of Onalaska who are not only dealing with COVID-19, like all of us, but also the aftermath of a deadly tornado that moved through Polk County on Wednesday night, peaking at 140 mph winds and causing EF3 damage in the area. Three people lost their lives, 308 homes were totally destroyed and another 173 were damaged.  Several people are still in critical condition.  Take a look at this amazing video I made yesterday.

Neighbors are stepping in to help, and these proud Texans are pulling together against amazing odds.  Here’s the local news report.  I also got some shots yesterday that reveal the damage this community is enduring.

Please keep the families who are grieving, the people of Onalaska and all of Polk County in your prayers.  Also, as always, continue to remember those who are serving on the frontlines during this pandemic – our medical professionals, first responders, grocery workers and so many others.  We are so blessed by these heroic Texans.

May God bless you and your family in this difficult time, and may he continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
