I spoke to the Council for National Policy in D.C. Thursday night before President Trump spoke to the organization on Friday morning. I was honored to get a shout out from the President at the beginning and later on in his speech for my support of law enforcement. The President made a terrific speech. He shared his vision for the next four years, laying out his record and his commitment to our American principles. He supports liberty and freedom, life, border security, law enforcement, the Second Amendment and lower taxes. His speech echoed his confidence and faith in America and was a stark contrast to the 4 days of doom and despair that we just heard from the Democrats and Joe Biden. The choice for America has never been more clear.
The Democrat Convention – Socialism and Platitudes
I was on a Fox News panel on Fox News @Night with Shannon Bream Monday night talking about the Democratic Convention. Click here to watch.
I joined Rick Roberts on WBAP in Dallas Thursday afternoon to talk about the DNC and other hot topics. You can listen to our conversation here.
Don’t Portland My Texas
I also traveled to Fort Worth on Tuesday where I joined Governor Abbott and other state leaders to announce that we will push legislation to freeze property tax revenue for any Texas city that chooses to defund police. What they have done in Austin should not happen in any city in the state. Cities and counties can’t put Texans at risk. The people of Austin and Texas deserve to be protected by their police and the Texas Senate will make this a priority. Here’s a short clip of my remarks.
Republican National Convention is August 24-27!
I’m currently in Charlotte, North Carolina where I am leading the Texas Delegation at the Republican National Convention. There have been a lot of changes because of the pandemic, but it is going to be an exciting week. Unlike the Democrats, who featured movie stars and elites, our Convention will focus on the heroes of everyday America – the people who are making America great. I will keep you posted on the activities so watch your email and social media.

A Little Humor
As always, please continue to keep our state and our nation in your prayers. Pray for the families who have lost loved ones to coronavirus and for our heroic health care workers. And, as always, keep our law enforcement officers in your prayers. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
