The 2026 Republican Party of Texas State Convention

Speaking in front of thousands of Texas Republicans
Last week, I was in Houston for the 2026 Republican Party of Texas State Convention. It was great to meet so many of you from across our state. With thousands of Republicans in attendance, the energy and enthusiasm were incredible. I have not missed a convention in 21 years, but this year’s convention was extra special. For the first time in more than 20 years, the Governor, the Speaker, and I all addressed the convention, showing a united Republican Party as we head into the fall election.
The Ice Cream Social with Cathy and Joe Pennington
I hosted my annual Ice Cream Social, and this year’s turnout was incredible. I handed out more than 800 ice cream bars and took over 800 photos.
This is always one of my favorite events of the convention because it gives me the chance to meet so many of you in person, hear your stories, and thank you for all you do for our party and our state.
Every Senate District has a caucus of delegates representing their district. I made it a point to visit as many SD caucuses as possible, and I think I managed to stop by nearly all of them. I always enjoy attending these meetings because they give me the opportunity to thank our precinct chairs in person.
Precinct chairs are the backbone of our party. They help spread our conservative message, engage voters, and encourage people to get to the polls. Their hard work is essential to our success, and without their dedication, our Republican party would be much weaker.
So, to every precinct chair across Texas: thank you for all you do for our party and our state.
Congratulations to Our New Party Chairs
I want to congratulate our new Party Chair, D’rinda Randall, and Vice Chair David Covey. I know both of them very well. They will do a great job leading us into 2027 and beyond. I look forward to working with you both as we move to unite our party and defeat the Democrats this November.
