A Safer Border for a Safer Texas
Texas Senators write the vast majority of bills, not my office. My staff and I work collaboratively with Senators and their staff on language to achieve final passage of bills.
One of the few exceptions is Senate Bill 4, which I wrote in 2023. I’m proud of Senate Bill 4. It gives local law enforcement in Texas the right to arrest and detain illegal border crossers. I’ve always believed it was constitutional and that it would be a model for other border states.
Open-border activists have sued to try to stop SB 4, but they have failed, and the courts have allowed SB 4 to go into effect. SB 4 is an important tool for Texas to help secure the border, especially if a rogue president, like Biden, refuses to enforce our nation’s border laws.
Thank goodness we have President Trump in office now. He is a fantastic partner with Texas to close the southern border to illegal crossers. SB 4 will help Texas support Border Patrol even more. I thank Senator Charles Perry, R-Lubbock, and Rep. David Spiller, R-Jacksboro, for passing this bill through both chambers over staunch opposition from Democrats.
Texas Is Trump Country
Together, we will make America great again!
I’m Proud to Endorse Mayes Middleton in His Race for Texas Attorney General

Mayes Middleton has established a record as one of the most conservative senators in Texas history. He will make the Texas Office of the Attorney General the strongest and most impactful AG office in the nation. He will work collaboratively with President Trump and the U.S. Department of Justice to protect our Constitution.
I’m Proud to Endorse Jim Wright for Reelection to the Texas Railroad Commission

The work of the Texas Railroad Commission—our state’s oil and gas regulatory agency—is critical to the Texas economy. With high gasoline prices and a volatile market, we need an experienced leader like Jim Wright. That’s why I endorse Jim Wright for reelection to the Texas Railroad Commission.
The Texas Senate GOP Is Stronger Than Ever

Brett Ligon won last Saturday’s special election for Texas Senate District 4 with 75% of the vote. His resounding victory signals the strength of the Texas Senate Republican Caucus.
In November’s general election, Leigh Wambsganss, David Cook, Dennis Paul, Trent Ashby, and Brett Ligon will defeat their opponents easily.
Ligon’s decisive victory is an important and timely reminder that when Texas Republicans are energized and united, we cannot be defeated.
