AUSTIN – Dan Patrick, Texas State Senator and Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor makes the following statement regarding Governor Rick Perry’s indictment.
“Every Texas Governor has the constitutional right to veto legislation or funding. Perverting the criminal justice system to seek retribution for a veto is unconscionable.
“Governor Perry was acting in the best interest of Travis County and the taxpayers of Texas. I stand with Governor Perry.
“Over the weekend, more than 1.3 million people saw my friends and I express our support for our Governor – ‘This Person Stands With Rick Perry.’ The overwhelming support for Governor Perry is a true testament to his leadership and most importantly, his integrity.”
