Patrick Earns Support from Permian Basin Petroleum Association (PBPA)

“Governor Patrick has been more engaged on energy issues than any Lieutenant Governor in memory”

HOUSTON, TX – Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced today that he has the support of the Permian Basin Petroluem Association (PBPA). Permian Basin Petroleum Association President Ben Shepperd said:

“Governor Patrick has been more engaged on energy issues than any lieutenant governor in memory. His steady-handed leadership has provided a strong, consistent and sensible legislative environment which has helped the oil and gas industry weather the lengthy industry downturn and fairly address issues important to all Texans.”

“Oil and gas fuel the Texas economy. I am proud to have the support of the Permian Basin Petroleum Association,” said Lt. Governor Dan Patrick.

The Permian Basian Petroleum Association was formed in 1961 by a group of oilmen concerned about the federal government’s growing regulatory role. The PBPA has grown from fewer than twenty members to more than 1,000 member companies.
