Patrick Addresses Defend Texas Liberty PAC
Pushes back on Dade Phelan’s despicable smear campaign.
HOUSTON TX – Texas Lieutenant Governor and conservative Republican candidate for re-election, Dan Patrick released the following statement:
“As I have said, there is simply no place in Texas politics where the views of Nick Fuentes and his kind are acceptable or will be tolerated.
“I spoke with Tim Dunn, a principal funder of Defend Texas Liberty PAC, and he has told me unequivocally that it was a serious blunder for PAC President Jonathan Stickland to meet with white supremist Nick Fuentes. He has further assured me that he is certain that Mr. Stickland and all PAC personnel will not have any future contact with Mr. Fuentes. He stated emphatically that everyone at the PAC understands that mistakes were made and are being corrected.
“I accept Mr. Dunn at his word. I know him to be a man of integrity and an avid and staunch supporter of Israel.
“Our campaign makes every effort to be cautious about who we accept campaign contributions from. When we accepted the contribution from Defend Texas Liberty PAC, there was no hint of any links to any antisemitic organizations or other hate groups. Like all contributions we receive, they are accepted on good faith. I see no reason to return the PAC’s contribution.
“This is an orchestrated smear campaign by a failed Speaker, Dade Phelan. He is desperate to deflect attention from his failure to pass conservative legislation that the people of Texas want and deserve. Those who parrot his calls for officeholders to return the money are as politically bankrupt has he is.”
