Lt. Governor Dan Patrick Endorsed by Texas Association of Manufacturers

HOUSTON, TX – Lt. Governor Dan Patrick announced today the endorsement for his re-election from the Texas Association of Manufacturers Political Action Committee (MPACT). In making the endorsement, Tony Bennett, TAM President and MPACT Board Member, said:

“Governor Patrick has always been a strong advocate for manufacturing in Texas by ensuring our industries remain competitive and possess the necessary tools to mitigate barriers for attracting new investment and creating quality jobs.

“As the leader of the Texas Senate, Lt. Governor Patrick works to keep the tax burden low for employers, our workforce skilled and ready, and continues to fight for sensible regulations,” said Bennett.  “These are key elements of a strong manufacturing climate and have allowed Texas to remain our nation’s top exporting state for more than 14 years.”

Manufacturers in Texas account for more than 14.3 percent of the total output in the state – more than $227 billion in 2015 – and manufacturers employ more than 848,000 Texans in jobs that pay an average compensation of more than $82,460 a year. More than 500 small and large companies from all across the state are members of the Texas Association of Manufacturers (TAM). And, TAM gives a voice to those businesses at the State house and at our nation’s Capital.
