Dr. Phil’s Biggest Concern: Our Kids Are Facing a Mental Health Crisis

One of America’s most trusted voices on human behavior has a warning for parents. Recently on Lt. Dan, I sat down with Dr. Phil to discuss the growing mental health crisis affecting young people, the impact of smartphones and social media, and why he believes parents must take a more active role in protecting their children. We also discuss the courtroom battle with Oprah Winfrey that launched his television career.

Leadership Lessons from a Bloody Battlefield

Many of history’s greatest leadership lessons weren’t learned in a classroom; they were forged on the battlefield. This week on the Lt. Dan Podcast, I sat down with Steve Wiley, President of the Lincoln Leadership Institute at Gettysburg, to explore the timeless leadership principles that emerged from the Battle of Gettysburg and why they still matter today.

We Kicked Off My Fall Campaign in a Big Way

1,200 Republicans packed every seat in the auditorium

I joined Governor Greg Abbott, Grayson County’s State Representative Shelley Luther, and Grayson County’s State Senator Brent Hagenbuch for a rally Monday night in Sherman, Texas, near the Oklahoma border.

The auditorium for 1,200 people was completely full. That’s a big crowd in the middle of summer. Texans are energized, and we’re not going to let the socialist left, now a communist-controlled Democratic Party, turn Texas blue.

It was a great way to kick off the fall campaign. We must keep Texas red.

The Road to Victory Starts Now

Tuesday night, all of the Republican statewide candidates and Speaker Dustin Burrows joined Governor Greg Abbott at the Governor’s Mansion to look ahead to our victory in November.

Together, we are committed to working every hour of every day to ensure Texas, which was recently ranked as the #1 economy in America, stays red and continues to be the guiding light for our country.

Charting the Course for the 90th Legislature: Seven New Interim Charges to the Texas Senate

On Monday, I released seven additional interim charges for Texas Senate committees to study in preparation for the 90th Texas Legislature. We released 74 charges earlier this year, many of which have already had public Senate hearings.

Come January, the Senate and I will advance the priorities of Texas’ conservative majority.

There’s a First Time for Everything

Country singer Tanya Tucker, a Texan, testified in our hearing on 765 power lines. At the end, she broke into one of her top songs.

That’s a first in my 20 years.

Powering Up Students for the New School Year

On Wednesday, I joined Leslie Ward, President of AT&T South Region, and Kalese Whitehurst, Superintendent of iSchool High at University Park in Houston, in providing 150 students with laptops ahead of the new school year. This high-performing public charter school works in partnership with Lone Star College to provide students with the ability to earn an associate degree while getting their high school diploma. I’m excited that these students will have another tool to help advance their education.

Thank you for all your support over the years and for everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
