There’s a disaster at the border and President Biden won’t even admit it’s a crisis. I joined America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino this morning to weigh in. Watch it here.
And then there was Biden’s Neanderthal Comments…
I also spoke with Harris Faulkner on The Faulkner Focus last Thursday about Biden’s Neanderthal comments and his actions on the border. Click here to watch.
Getting to the bottom of what went wrong
I have pledged to get to the bottom of what went wrong that caused the power outages during the February 15th storm. Last week, I called on ERCOT and PUC leaders to resign. In case you missed it, there’s some good news – now they are both gone. I also called on the PUC and ERCOT to correct the emergency $16 billion pricing error that continued after the power shortage had ended and the major threat to the Texas grid had passed. Here’s my official statement. Yesterday, 28 state senators joined me in calling for the PUC to correct the pricing errors following the winter storm. Now is the time for the PUC to act.
I joined Jason Whitely on Inside Texas Politics Sunday morning to talk about next steps following the February 15th winter storm, including changes to ERCOT. Click here to watch.
Texas is officially 100% open today: More on Texas Reopening
I also joined Fox Report with Jon Scott to talk about it on Sunday. You can watch that interview here.
Great night at the Sun City Republican Meeting
Always good to see so many old friends – and meet new ones, at the Sun City Republican Club in Georgetown. Big turnout last week.
I also got to meet a number of Republicans from East Texas who were visiting the Capitol last week. Snapped a photo with David Stein, Chair of the Smith County Republicans and Senator Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola.
Please continue to keep our state and our nation in your prayers. Pray for the families who have lost loved ones to coronavirus and for our heroic health care workers. And, as always, keep our brave law enforcement officers in your prayers. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
