On Friday night I joined Shannon Bream on Fox News @Night to discuss the Democrats’ refusal to negotiate on the coronavirus relief package in Congress. I said I hoped President Trump would do what he advised in The Art of the Deal and walk away from the table if the Democrats continued to refuse to negotiate in good faith. On Saturday he did just that. You can watch that interview here.
Democrats continue to push mail-in ballots in Texas. I talked with Laura Ingraham last week about why it’s a problem. Here’s a clip from the show.
Celebrating “Pappy” — 99th Birthday Party for a Hero
I had the privilege of meeting Joseph M. “Pappy” Colwell, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in World War II. Folks surprised him at his residence in West Houston earlier this week for a drive-by birthday parade, and I was honored to be a part of the festivities…it was a community affair — even the local fire department got involved! Pappy is 99 years young and considered to be the oldest living Marine in Texas. I did a quick interview with him and shot this short video. I’m sure it will put a smile on your face.

1.8 Million Jobs Added in July, Topping Expectations!
As I think you know, I am chair of the Texas Trump Victory campaign and we got some great news yesterday. Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the U.S. economy added 1.8 million jobs during the month of July, sending the unemployment rate down for the third straight month in a row. After the beating our economy has taken because of the pandemic, we are so lucky to have Donald J. Trump in the White House. Joe Biden would be a disaster for Texas and America.
Please continue to keep our state and our nation in your prayers. Pray for the families who have lost loved ones to coronavirus and for our heroic health care workers. And, as always, keep our law enforcement officers in your prayers. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,
Dan Patrick
Lieutenant Governor of Texas
